AI services we offer

  • AI agent development

We design and deploy custom autonomous agents that run real business workflows end to end, from research and data entry to customer support and reporting.

  • Intelligent process automation

We connect your existing tools and data into automated pipelines that remove repetitive manual work and free your team for higher-value tasks.

  • Computer vision systems

We build custom vision models for quality inspection, surveillance and object detection, deployed on site or in the cloud to suit your infrastructure and latency needs.

  • Custom model training and fine-tuning

We train and fine-tune models on your proprietary data, so you get a system tuned to your domain rather than a generic off-the-shelf solution.

  • AI security and red-teaming

We stress-test and harden your AI systems against prompt injection, data leakage and adversarial attacks before they reach production.

  • Co-build a venture

You have the domain, we have the engineers. Cash-light, equity-in. Two slots a year.

What clients say

Conrad TaljaardRFDigi

At RFDigi, we had the pleasure of working with Workbox Lab on three incredible new developments, an iPhone app, an Android app, a Windows desktop app, and another custom application we required. From the very beginning, Workbox Lab went out of their way to make sure everything was exactly as we envisioned. Nothing was ever too much trouble; they were always available, patient, and willing to go the extra mile.

What impressed us most was how much they genuinely cared about the success of our projects. They followed up regularly to ensure everything was running smoothly, and whenever we hit a bump, they immediately jumped in, not only fixing the issue but often improving the application in the process. That level of dedication and commitment is rare, and it made them feel like more than just developers, they became a true partner in our journey.

We are incredibly grateful for the passion, expertise, and effort Workbox Lab put into our projects, and we cannot recommend their services highly enough.

faqquestions

Questions we get asked

What does Workbox Lab do?
Workbox Lab is an AI studio in Cape Town, South Africa. We design, build and run agentic AI systems for companies: autonomous agents that carry business workflows end to end, intelligent process automation, computer vision, custom model training and fine-tuning, and AI security testing. We deploy on-premises or in the cloud.
Where is Workbox Lab based, and do you work with clients elsewhere?
We are based in Cape Town and operate on South African Standard Time, GMT+2, which overlaps with the London and New York mornings. We work with clients wherever they are. Workbox Lab is a brand of Blink Binary (Pty) Ltd, a South African registered company.
How does an AI project with Workbox Lab start?
It starts with a fixed-fee probe of up to two weeks. We stress-test the idea against your own data, systems or threat model and hand you a go or no-go memo either way. If it goes ahead, we agree one measurable target, then ship the smallest real version into one team.
Can you run AI systems on-premises instead of in the cloud?
Yes. We deploy on your own hardware where data residency, latency or regulatory constraints require it, and in the cloud where they do not. Computer vision for quality inspection is a common on-premises case, because inference has to happen next to the cameras rather than across a network.
Will our data be used to train someone else's model?
No. When we train or fine-tune a model on your proprietary data, the result is yours and tuned to your domain. We do not feed client data into shared or public training sets. We work within the Protection of Personal Information Act, POPIA, for any personal information involved.
What is AI red-teaming, and why would we need it?
AI red-teaming is adversarial testing of an AI system before it reaches production. We attempt prompt injection, try to extract data the system should not reveal, and probe for adversarial inputs that make it misbehave. The output is a list of concrete weaknesses and the fixes that close them.
How do you measure whether an AI system is working?
Against one clear target agreed before we build, whether that is a benchmark, a service level agreement or a threat model. The smallest real version goes live in one team with a human in the loop, and it is measured against that target every week rather than demonstrated once.
